Between the request and the answer
By Eric Jinkwen
Lamentation 3:25-26
“The Lord is good to those who wait for Him, To the soul who seeks Him. It is good that one should hope and wait quietly For the salvation of the Lord.”
Most requests we make to God take some times to manifest in our lives. For that reason, many children of God miss the mark and hurry to make up a human way to their needs and problems. We need to know that there is a big difference between “not yet” and “no.” Children do no know the difference. When you say “not yet” to a child, he or she takes it for a “no”.
Because children are generally impatient. They and have not yet learned the lessons of life. They want whatever they are asking to be done or given instantly. I love the faith of children. But you see, Christian faith will sometimes demands a time of waiting, waiting on the Lord; waiting for the manifestation of the answer.
Our passage says, “The Lord is good to those who wait for Him, To the soul who seeks Him. It is good that one should hope and wait quietly For the salvation of the Lord.”
Are you waiting on the Lord?
Does the answer seem to delay?
God may not come at your time, but He will not be late in His time. Wait on Him.
Between the request and the answer, a lot of things usually take place.
Many people feel abandoned by God and they give up their faith.
Some take short cut and fabricate cosmetic solutions to satisfy their impatience. There are many marriages that are cosmetic and fabricated marriages. They came as a result of impatience in the waiting room of life. Some single people feel, “I have waited to long for a Christian brother, let me just put up with this fellow, though I can’t tell whether he is really born again, but at least he is not bad.”
Between the request and the answer, some have played funny games of immorality with their teacher to finally validate the course.
Others have play the game of immorality to get the job or the promotion. Waiting on the Lord is not wasting. Waiting on the Lord’s time is not foolishness. Some people will say, “use what you have to get what you want”. That is a trap from the devil.
Let God lead you and lead your actions. It is always good to trust and wait on the Lord.

You will end up winning. Let me leave you with this powerful prophecy. Isaiah 54:1 “Sing, O barren one, who did not bear; break forth into singing and cry aloud, you who have not been in labor! For the children of the desolate one will be more than the children of her who is married,” says the LORD.”
Prayer: O Lord, I choose to wait on you. I will not take a way that is not godly. I will not fabricate an answer and call it breakthrough or open door. Answer me O Lord and how me the way in Jesus name, amen.
Your Request is a Special Order, Just be Patient.
Psalms 23:5: “You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies; you anoint my head with oil; my cup overflows.”
We have been encouraging ourselves to wait on the Lord and on God’s timing. He is preparing a table for you even in the presence of your enemies. Some requests take time because God wants to embellish the response.
Here is a true story given by Bishop David Abioye ; it taught me to understand why some requests may take time for a response and also why to always be patience in life. Follow and be Blessed.
“I walked into a hotel and after going through the menu, I ordered some food. After about 20 mins a group of guys and ladies walked in and ordered theirs. To my dismay, these folks got served first. I watched as they began to eat & laugh heartily.
I even overheard one of them bragging about how connected he is to everyone in the hotel and I felt mocked. I decided to leave. Unable to take it anymore , I called the waiter. He calmly told me: “Yours is a special order, being prepared by the chief chef himself.
Their orders were prepared hurriedly by students on attachment because the top chefs are busy with yours Sir. That’s why they were served first. Please have some juice as you wait”. I calmed down & waited patiently.
Shortly after, my meal was served by 6 waiters. Unknown to me, the owner of the hotel (who happened to be an old long lost friend of mine) saw me when I entered and decided to surprise me. She changed my simple meal to a five-star meal. The party at the other table were shocked. They couldn’t stop staring. Suddenly they were the ones murmuring, asking why they didn’t get that kind of service and meal.
Such is life! Some people are ahead of you and are eating now, laughing at you and talking about how they are smarter, wiser and better than you, how they are well connected, blessed, have money and are enjoying life . You are waiting tirelessly wondering why it’s taking so long to breakthrough or to move to the next level. You endure mockery and humiliation. Maybe you have contemplated suicide, gone through depression or suffered severe mental anxiety.

Do not worry! The owner of the world has seen you and doesn’t want you to be served a simple meal like those making a mockery of you. You’re waiting long because yours is a special meal.
It takes time to prepare a good meal, putting together the ingredients and the other elements. And only chief chefs prepare them.
Relax and wait for your meal. When it comes, that laughing party will be silenced for good. God will anoint your head and your cup will run over. You will not miss your time of visitation in Jesus Mighty Name. Wait without resentment, Bitterness and discouragement. God is still at work.
