Your Prayers Matter in Heaven

Revelation 5:8:
" Now when He had taken the scroll, the four living creatures and the twenty-four elders fell down before the Lamb, each having a harp, and golden bowls full of incense, which are the prayers of the saints."

What happens when the righteous pray? Well the common knowledge is that our prayers are heard and answered by God. That is right. But do you know that there are services held in heaven during which our prayers are literally offered as sacrifices on a golden altar? The passage tells us that the four living creatures and the twenty-four elders fell down before the Lamb, each having a harp, and golden bowls full of incense, which are the prayers of the saints. When you pray, your prayers are actually converted into heavenly incense which are collected in golden bowls by the four living creatures and the twenty four elders.

So, the more we pray, the more heavenly incense we generate to fill the bowls. Now Let us see how the service takes place. In Revelation 8:3, we read, “Then another angel, having a golden censer, came and stood at the altar. He was given much incense, that he should offer it with the prayers of all the saints upon the golden altar which was before the throne.”
Have you taken note?

(1) There is a golden altar in heaven.

(2) Our prayers are collected in golden bowls or a censer and mixed with much incense to be offered on the golden altar before the throne.

(3) Our prayers are treated like sacrifices. So, the more we pray, the more sacrifice we generate and the more services are held in heaven on our behalf.

Beloved, your prayers matter in heaven. Do not fail to pray. David had this revelation way back. He said in Psalms 141:2: “Let my prayer be set before You as incense, The lifting up of my hands as the evening sacrifice.”
And when the angels offer our prayers on the altar, the smoke of the incense, with the prayers of the saints, ascend before God from the angel’s hand. And the answer on earth produce great testimonies. You can read Revelation 8: 4-5.

Do not fail to pray. Your prayers are not in vain. You shall see the answers. Keep on praying about that man, that woman, that child, that project… Pray without ceasing. You are filling up your bowl in heaven. The answer will surely come. Hallelujah!
