Revelation 3:7
“… 'These things says He who is holy, He who is true, “He who has the key of David, He who opens and no one shuts, and shuts and no one opens”

Meditation:
It is certain that you looked at the topic of our devotion and you are thinking, “Why shut the opened door?” Beloved, there are some opened doors that needs to be shut. Yes, closed. Apart from our explanations about doors yesterday, you need to also know that doors are at the same time exit and entry points into some domains, ahead, or rooms. Why do we put doors in our houses? So that we can check what goes in and what goes out in some rooms and areas. When you experience somethings in your life that are not supposed to take place, you should begin to suspect that there is a door opened that should be closed. From our main verse above, Jesus does not only open doors, He can also help you to shut some doors. Hallelujah! What are such doors that needs to be close?

(1) The door of temptation to sin.

God said to Cain, “…And if you do not do well, sin lies at the door. And its desire is for you, but you should rule over it.” Gen 4:7. Finally Cain opened the door and sin came in. Close that door of temptation.

(2) The doors or gates of death and hades.

Jesus spoke about the gates of hades in Matt 16:18. This is also about forces of darkness and witchcraft that may operate in your life because of an opened door. Let Jesus help you to close that gates.

(3) The door to your heart or mind.

Your mind is a center of operation. Be careful what you let in (Prov 4:23; Phil 4:8). Only Jesus should stay in there (Rev 3:20).

(4) The door to your past, (Isaiah 43: 18-19).

There are things in your pass that it is high time to forget them. You do not need to open the door and bring them into your today. Let them go.

(5) The door to bad friends.

1 Corinthians 15:33 says, “Do not be deceived: “Evil company corrupts good habits.” Do you get that? Could it be that some bad habits in your life is because you have opened the door of your life to bad friends? Close that door.

Prayer point: Check in your life, which of these opened doors do you need to close? Ask the Lord to reveal them to you and decree those doors to be closed in Jesus name.
