John 1:41: "The first thing Andrew did was to find his brother Simon and tell him, “We have found the Messiah” (that is, the Christ)."

Meditation:
There is a good and normal practice that is gradually dying among many Christians today, Evangelism or Witnessing. Let me ask you, when is the last time you invited someone to Church or preach the Gospel to someone?

When Andrew found Jesus Christ, it did not take long for him to invite his brother Peter. Our passage says, ” The first thing Andrew did was to find his brother Simon and tell him, “We have found the Messiah” (that is, the Christ).”

Did you see that? The FIRST THING Andrew did was to find his brother and tell him the good news. Oh, you may think, “well, this is just about Andrew.” Now, as we read further in that text, we see the same reaction in Phillip. John 1:45: “Philip found Nathanael and told him, “We have found… Jesus of Nazareth, the son of Joseph.”

Who have you found to bring to Jesus since the year began? Since you became a Christian, have you intentionally brought someone to Christ or to Church service? The Gospel is not only good news to us, but it is also good news to others. There are some people you know who needs to hear this Gospel. And you have the responsibility to tell them or to bring them. All believers are evangelists in different capacities. As born again and new creation people all, we have all received a ministry called, the ministry of reconciliation (2 Corinthians 5:18-20).

You may not preach like Peter did in Acts 2. You may only do like Andrew and Philip, invite someone to Church service or to a forum like this. Philip did not preach a long message because Nathanael was arguing. Philip simply said to him, “Come and see.”
