Apostolic Instructions for Collective Edification
1 Thessalonians 5:11: "Therefore comfort each other and edify one another, just as you also are doing."
Meditation:
We are rounding off the week and also the month, let’s remind ourselves some principles and rules that will serve for our comfort and edification. Paul the Apostle of the Lord Jesus Christ gave these instructions to the Thessalonians for two reasons:
comfort and edification.
They are from verses 12 to 23. Let’s just follow one after the other:
(1) Recognize, honour and show love to your leaders.
Paul says, “recognize those who labor among you, and are over you in the Lord and admonish you, and to esteem them very highly in love for their work’s sake.”

(2) Be at peace among yourselves. This is for your personal health and growth.
(3) Warn those who are unruly.
This is our Christian responsibility. Beloved, if you know a child of God who lives in disorder, you have the responsibility to warn him/her in love and with the aim of redeeming him/her.
(4) Comfort the fainthearted,
(5) Uphold the weak,
(6) Be patient with all.
(7) See that no one renders evil for evil to anyone, but always pursue what is good both for yourselves and for all.
(8) Rejoice always,
(9) Pray without ceasing,
10) In everything give thanks; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you.
(11) Do not quench the Spirit.
(12) Do not despise prophecies.
(13) Test all things; hold fast what is good.
(14) Abstain from every form of evil.
If you walk in the Apostolic instructions, you will not miss the Apostolic blessings.
“Now may the God of peace Himself sanctify you completely; and may your whole spirit, soul, and body be preserved blameless at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ.”
