If You Can Believe It, You Can Have It

Mark 9:23:
Jesus said to him, “If you can believe, all things are possible to him who believes.”

Here was a man whose son was vexed and terrorized by a demon. The man helplessly watched his son suffer the affliction of this wicked spirit for a long time. The boy was in that terrible condition since childhood. I am sure the father tried several therapies and gymnastics to help the son without success. Even his approach to ask for help when he came to Jesus reveals his lack of hope and lack of faith. He said, “…But if You can do anything, have compassion on us and help us.” (verse 22).

Beloved, it is not if the Lord can do anything or not about your situation; the question is, do you believe?

God is always willing to forgive, to save, to heal, to bless, to prosper, to promote; but do you believe?

Whatever you have gone through and have suffered even in your childhood God can terminate today if you believe. If you can believe it, you can have it. Jesus’ answer to the man’s request is clear, “If you can believe, all things are possible to him who believes.”

Believe that all things are possible.

“All” means “everything excluding nothing”. Healing is possible. Deliverance from that bad character and habits is possible. Access to God’s purposes is possible. Breakthroughs are possible, marriage is possible, and the fruit of the womb is possible. And what have you? There are three attitudes to adopt:

(1) Do not look at the present realities in your life or around you and you conclude, “No”.

Abraham did not consider his own body, already dead (since he was about a hundred years old), and the deadness of Sarah’s womb. Do you see that?

(2) Be Fully Convinced of God’s Promises.

Abraham did not waver at the promise of God through unbelief, but was strengthened in faith, giving glory to God, fully convinced that what He had promised He was also able to perform. Hallelujah! You can keep on rejoicing and celebrating while you are waiting on God. The fact that it has not yet happened should not take away your joy and peace.

(3) You need patience.

Do not be discouraged, nor bitter nor frustrated; but be patient with God. Hebrews 6:12 says, “…do not become sluggish, but imitate those who through faith and patience inherit the promises.”

May you receive your request in Jesus’ name.
