You Have been Empowered to Know the Things of God.

1 Corinthians 2:12: Now we have received, not the spirit of the world, but the Spirit who is from God, that we might know the things that have been freely given to us by God.

When a man is not born again, he is blinded to the things of God. He cannot perceive spiritual realities because his mind is still darkened and veiled.

Paul the Apostle described it as “having their understanding darkened, being alienated from the life of God, because of the ignorance that is in them, because of the blindness of their heart.”(Ephesians 4:18). Such is the man who is not born again, the man who has not repented of his past life and accepted Jesus Christ into as Saviour and Lord.

This type of man may even be going to church, but he is still blind and ignorant to the things of God. Why? 1 Corinthians 2:14 reveals that, the natural man does not receive the things of the Spirit of God, for they are foolishness to him; nor can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned. You can’t remain a natural man and you access the things of God. No! A man must first be born again.
And once a man gets born again, He receives the Holy Spirit in him. And with the Spirit of God in us, the eye of our understanding gets opened and we can perceive spiritual truths and realities.

That is why Paul said, in our opening text that, “Now we have received, not the spirit of the world, but the Spirit who is from God, that we might know the things that have been freely given to us by God.” Beloved, if you are born again, you have received the Spirit of God.

That means you have been empowered to know the things God has freely given us. Forgiveness, Righteousness, Abundant Life, Joy, Peace, Dominion…
See more from this verse, 1 Corinthians 2:11: “For what man knows the things of a man except the spirit of the man which is in him? Even so no one knows the things of God except the Spirit of God.”
Yes, you can know the things of God because of the Spirit of God in you.

You are loaded with supernatural powers and abilities. You should never again say, who will help me in life? You have the ultimate help from the greatest Helper, the Holy Spirit. You can know the will of God about your life. You can know the plan of God about your life. You are not disadvantage anymore, since you have the Holy Spirit. May God bless you and bless your week.
