A story was told of a couple who had been looking for a child for 19 years. Several medical checks proved they are fine medically; countless prayer sessions were held, yet nothing happened.
On a visit to a pastor for prayers, the couple were told that they would bear a child in one year time; and true to the word of God, they welcomed their quadruplets exactly a year after.

When the husband went back to the pastor to share the testimony, the pastor told him that the door of childlessness was broken for him because while he was young, he honoured his parents. Honor thy father and mother; which is the first commandment with promise;

That it may be well with thee, and thou mayest live long on the earth. Ephesians 6:2-3Honouring one’s parents according to the scriptures comes with promises and God doesn’t fail on His promises. There are blessings attached to honoring your parents, some of which are:

1. Closed doors will open

There are certain doors that may never open in your life except you honour your parents.

2. It will be well with you

Ephesians 6:3a promises that as you honour your parents, things that weren’t going well will begin to fall into pleasant places.

3. Long life

Giving honour to your parents is a guaranteed way to long life.

4. Answered prayers:

God will not hesitate to answer your prayers and the prayers your parents prayed for you when you honour them.

5. Fruitfulness:

One of the blessings that comes with honouring old age and grey hair is becoming fruitful in everything you lay your hands to do. We encourage you to start honouring your parents and elders around you.

Father, help me to honor my parents as you commanded.

I will honor my parents so as to attract the blessings that comes with it.
