Where Is Your Treasure?
“Lay not up for yourselves treasures upon earth, where moth and rust doth corrupt, and where thieves break through and steal: But lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust doth corrupt, and where thieves do not break through nor steal: For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also.” (Matt 6:19-21)
No one invests on things that are not valuable to him or her. No one wastes his or her time on what he or she does not consider important. What you consider important draws your heart along; your heart follows your priorities. Unfortunately, most Christians do not always make the right choices; they have not made the kingdom of God their priorities. Consequently, what moves God does not always move them. May that not define you this year in the name of Jesus.
1 )Lay not up for yourself treasures on earth.
This is a direct admonition from Jesus to anyone who claims to be His disciple. The question is, are you a disciple of Jesus? if you are, then this should apply to you. You are on a pilgrimage here on earth. You are in this world, but not of this world. Your heart must not be overshadowed by the cares of this world: money, fame, etc. A disciple is not self-centered; he or she lives for the master, to advance His kingdom.
2) Moth, rust and thieves can access your earthly treasury.
Whatever you struggle to grab for your own selfish interests has no guarantee. God alone is our sure security. When your investments have no link with the advancement of the kingdom of God, those investments are naturally exposed to the attacks of moths, rusts and thieves. The devourer will have a liberal access the them. May the Lord help us in Jesus mighty name.
3 )Lay up for yourself treasures in Heaven.
Heaven must be your priority. It must be your overriding goal in life. Whatever you do must contribute to drawing you or someone else closer to heaven. Your resources must be used to advance the kingdom of God. Is this true about your life? is the kingdom of God advancing in your hands? When was the last time you intentionally invested something very costly for the advancement of the kingdom of God?
Prayers:
1)Lord, in the name of Jesus I repent from every self-centered nature in me.
2) I receive grace to redefine my priorities as I progress in to this year in the name of Jesus.
3) I resolve to become an intentional kingdom advancement partner in the name of Jesus
4)I come against the activities of moths, rusts and thieves over my resources in the name of Jesus.

Have you ever practically invested in a business and it didn’t work? What were your reactions? God’s design for His children is that we make His kingdom our priority, ‘but seek ye first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added unto you’ (Matt 6:33). When you place God and His kingdom first, He is compelled to take responsibility over your own personal needs. But too often we do not give God, and the advancement of His kingdom the priority it deserves. Consequently, we are often abandoned on our own to struggle with our own needs and challenges.
1 )Follow divine principles to get divine blessings .
God is a God of principles. Our divine blessings are released as we obey and follow divine principles. If you make God first in every area of your life, He’ll make you a winner all the time. If you prioritize your investments on kingdom advancement, moth, rust and thieves will never access our investments. God will assign His angels to take charge of both your life, investments and projects.
2)Where your heart is, there will your heart be also.
Do you still love God? And how do you verify to know if you still love God? It is simple- Do you still get troubled if you missed your prayer time? Do you forget to study or meditate on the word of God and it means nothing to you? When you have money, and there is a need to be met, say in your local church, and at the same time there was a personal need, how have you been managing such situations? can God interrupt your program? Can you say you are fully following God, and that you are doing so unconditionally? Where indeed is your treasure? Oh, that our hearts will return to God.
