Be Satisfied with God
John 4:34
"Jesus said to them, 'My food is to do the will of Him who sent Me, and to finish His work.'"
When we seek God with all our heart, we normally find Him. Then, after we find Him, we get to know Him and to love Him. But, sometimes Christians behave with God as some married people behave with their partner.
Their love to their married partner is just for a moment and they begin to look outside. They are no longer satisfied with their spouses; they become fade up with the person to whom they pledged and vowed faithfulness. Man is naturally an insatiable being. Be watchful.

After finding and knowing God, we need to love Him and be satisfied with Him. What does it mean to be satisfied with God?
To be satisfied with God means, you accept His will, plan, purpose, and agenda for your life.
God has a plan for our lives (Jeremiah 29:11). Doing all that it takes to walk in that plan and in His will are proofs that we are satisfied with God.
Jesus is an example of one who was totally satisfied with God. He said, ” I have come in the volume of the books to do your will” (Ps. 40:7, 8; Heb. 10:9). Jesus discovered God’s will for His life in the volumes of books and He settled in doing the will of God. That’s why He could say, “My food is to do the will of He who sent me and finish it”
What is your own food? What gives you the greatest pleasure in life?
When Jesus said “My food” He actually meant “my satisfaction” is to do the will of God.
Jesus later on said in John 9:4, “I must do the will of my Father while it is still day”
Jesus settled on God’s will.
He was satisfied with God’s will. You must settle on God’s will. You will be fulfilled in God’s will. Bishop David Oyedepo has a principle and life philosophy which is worth adopting,
- Whatever God cannot give me, may I never have it.
- Whatever God cannot do in my life, let it remain undone.
- Wherever God cannot lead me to, let me never get there.
That is a man who is satisfied with God. Be satisfied with God and you will never regret.
Prayer: Father, you are my peace, my joy, and my satisfaction. I settled to be find pleasure in your will, plan and purpose for me life. Help me Lord to know them and to do them in Jesus name, amen.
Be Satisfied with God
Matthew 4:4
But He answered and said, “It is written, ‘Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceeds from the mouth of God.’ ”
The trials we face and the pressures of life can push one to move out of the will of God. But the man or woman who truly knows God and loves God, will settle in doing the will of God and abiding in it.
Here is Jesus, very hungry after 40 days and 40 nights of fast.
The devil suggests to Him that He should turn stone into bread and satisfy His hunger. But Jesus settled on doing only God’s will despite the urgent need for food. That is what it means to be satisfied with God.
To be satisfied with God means, you are confident and comfortable with His leading and provisions in your life.

You choose to live by the word of His mouth. You resist the temptation of doing or having what is dishonorable to God.
In Matthew 4, Jesus was tempted three times, He chose to settle in the will of God. He was satisfied with God’s leading and God’s provision per time.
How many have fallen in traps because they wanted to be wealthy over night?
How many, because of impatience went into wrong marital relationships bypassing God’s principles just to end up frustrated?
To be satisfied with God also means, to find contentment and peace in Him at every given stage of our lives (1 Timothy 6: 6). When you want more than God is doing in your life, you will fall in a trap. Have trust in God and do not go beyond His leading in your life per time.
You must be confident and comfortable with God’s leading in your life. And God cannot lead us to go against His word or principles.
If you find yourself in a terrible situation right now because you overlooked God’s word and principles, there is good news.
- Sincerely approach God and ask for His forgiveness and mercy.
- Purpose to abandon the wrong way or wrong thing and do what is right. Ask for God’s grace to help you to what is right. God is a God of mercy and restoration. You can read more from Joel 2:12-29 and 2Chronicles 33:10-13.
