Can Christians marry unbelievers

Abundant Life Devotional
By Eric Jinkwen

Exodus 23:32-33:
"You shall make no covenant with them, nor with their gods. They shall not dwell in your land, lest they make you sin against Me. For if you serve their gods, it will surely be a snare to you.”

There is a great mistake that many born again children of God commit today, getting married to unbelievers. One of the causes of curses in some people’s life is called, Ungodly Covenants.
In Exodus 23: 32, God is clear about this: “You shall make no covenant with them, nor with their gods.” Marriage is a covenant and once you enter into a marriage covenant with an unbeliever, you also enter into a covenant with his or her gods.

This is even better explained in 2 Corinthians 6. Paul wrote, “Do not be unequally yoked together with unbelievers.
For what fellowship has righteousness with lawlessness?
And what communion has light with darkness? And what accord has Christ with Belial? Or what part has a believer with an unbeliever? And what agreement has the temple of God with idols? For you are the temple of the living God. As God has said: “I will dwell in them And walk among them. I will be their God, And they shall be My people.” (2 Corinthians 6:14‭-‬16)

You see, the believer is called righteousness, light, Christ, temple of God while the unbeliever is called lawlessness, darkness, Belial, temple of idols.
Entering into such deep life Covenants with unbelievers puts the believer into contact with strange diabolic powers. God says in Exodus 23:33, “they shall not dwell in your land, lest they make you sin against Me. For if you serve their gods, it will surely be a snare to you.” You may say, “oh I am serving my God and not his or her gods.” Just look at how things have been going for those in those kind of relationships.

Also as a child of God, deal with curses in your life and family before entering marriage covenant with someone. Also, make sure that your intended partner has also dealt with Covenants and Curses in his or her own family. If you make a marriage covenant with people who are under evil forces, you also will be affected by those evil forces.
This has to do also with people in Secret societies, fraternities

Our only covenant, is the covenant in the blood of Jesus Christ. If you are still a single, don’t get yourself entangled with any such yoke because of pressure to get married. The pains in marriage will be more than the patience of singleness. If you are already married and your partner is an unbeliever and worst against involved in wrong dealings and Covenant, you can stand on the blood of Jesus and plead for God’s mercy to see you through.
May God hear you and come to your help in Jesus name, Amen.
