GOD’S LAW: CONSTANTLY MEDITATE ON IT!

Joshua 1:7 “Be strong and very courageous. Be careful to obey all the law my servant Moses gave you; do not turn from it to the right or to the left, that you may be successful wherever you go.
Joshua 1:8 Keep this Book of the Law always on your lips; meditate on it day and night, so that you may be careful to do everything written in it. Then you will be prosperous and successful.
Joshua 1:9 Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the LORD your God will be with you wherever you go.”

J I Packer says:

Meditation is the activity of calling to mind, and thinking over, and dwelling on, and applying to oneself, the various things that one knows about the works, the ways, the purpose and the promises of God. It is the activity of holy thought, consciously performed in the presence of God, by the help of God, as a means of communion with God.
Another person says, “Meditation is carefully thinking on who God is, what he’s said and done; with a heart willing and ready to obey.”

God’s instruction to Joshua, a new leader includes “how” he should be courageous and successful.
The keys are:

• Constant meditation and
• Obedience to the Word!

How was Joshua to handle it? Read it; meditate/carefully think of what it says and means; and to apply it to daily living!

The secret or keys to prosperity hasn’t changed!

Today, in a brief talk or homily, most are filled with quotes of human philosophies, positive confessions, quotable quotes, men’s counsel, etc; sometimes in Christian gatherings, with basic reference to the Word/Book!

God’s mind is revealed in His Word, Great men of olde rose, stood and/or fell dependent on how they applied the truth of the Word. How do you use God’s Word?
It takes courage to stay focused.

Prayer: O Lord my God, help us, your children to be disciplined in our time with You, in Your law/Word, inspite of our busy-ness; that you unveil the secrets of success to us, in Jesus mighty name! Amen!
