THE END OF A MATTER IS BETTER THAN ITS BEGINNING

Ecclesiastes 7:8
“The end of a thing is better than its beginning; The patient in spirit is better than the proud in spirit.”

The Christian life is a journey, and it is a race. Just like in any race, our life on this present earth has a beginning and an end. Solomon tells us in Ecclesiastes 7:8 that, it is not just enough to begin the race, but most importantly to finish it. There are many people who are fun of ending their commitments halfway the road. They start things and they are not patient enough to finish them.

They commit themselves to a project, a relationship, a committee, an assignment, but they always end it halfway. They start to read a book, they never end it. They start the year in a ministry, then they withdraw or they move to another.

What commitment have you made in the beginning of this year? Where are you with your commitments?
It has been proven that more that 80% of people who set goals at the beginning of the year abandon them in February. I hope you are still on with yours.

There are some people who never go till the end of their fast; they are never patient to grow a project or a business. They are always running from one thing to the other. By the time they are know for one thing, they have switched to another. This is not a good spirit.
See Solomon said, “The end of a thing is better than its beginning; The patient in spirit is better than the proud in spirit.”

Yes, patience to go right till the end. Patience to finish that book you started. Patience to go through the Bible as you decided at the beginning of the year. Patience to go through your fasting program.
It takes patience to build something great. Don’t just abandon a course because it is difficult. Yes, you may face difficulties; but stay on. Know that life on earth is a fight and it is a race. Apostle Paul said at the end of his own life in 2 Timothy 4:7 that; “I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith.” Praise the Lord!

May you not end the race on the way. Keep the faith. Be patient. Seek to finish the race, because the end is better than the beginning.

Prayer: Lord, I receive from you the grace and wisdom to run in the race of life. I determine to be patient to finish the race. Amen!
