Let Seeking God Be Your Number One Priority
By Jinkwen Eric ; –
Isaiah 55:6
"Seek the Lord while He may be found, Call upon Him while He is near."
God wants us to seek Him and to know Him. Because of the fall of man, every human except Jesus Christ is born separated from God’s glory (Romans 3: 23).
All men have fallen short of the glory of God. So, all men lost intimacy with God. Therefore, for man to regain his original purpose on this earth, he must engage in the discipline of seeking God.
The good news is that God came to seek for us in the person of Jesus Christ (Luke 19:9-10). Jesus Christ came to fully restore the broken relationship between man and God (John 14:6). All men can regain an intimate fellowship with God as the fellowship that existed in the Garden of Eden.
The number one area of Satan’s attack in people’s life and many Christians is to keep them away from seeking and having fellowship with God. Satan deceives men to keep busy in their work, to celebrate their achievements and their mental and intellectual attainments so much that they can begin to push God away from their lives.
If men do not seek God, Satan will mislead them into religions and cults. But the truth stands, without God in our lives, vanity upon vanity all is vanity.
Seek God while He may still be found because when one dies, there is no more chance to seek God. If the trumpet sounds, there will be no more opportunity to turn to God.
The most important search of man is God.
Jesus reminded His disciples in Luke 12, “Take heed and beware of covetousness, for one’s life does not consist in the abundance of the things he possesses.” “So is he who lays up treasure for himself, and is not rich toward God.”
(Luke 12:15, 21).
We all need a vital and functional relationship with God, a relationship that is real and personal.
Two great benefits of seeking God.
(1) We come to know and experience His plans for our lives. Jeremiah 29:11-13 lets us know that God has a plan to prosper us, but we can only access it as we keep seeking Him with all our hearts.
(2) We come to experience His power and His glory. Psalms 63:1-2, “O God, You are my God; Early will I seek You; My soul thirsts for You; My flesh longs for You In a dry and thirsty land where there is no water. So I have looked for You in the sanctuary, to see Your power and Your glory.”
When we seek the Lord, His power and glory are reachable. May you keep seeking God this new month. I can guarantee you that you will experience new dimensions.
