Please Separate From Me

Please Separate From Me

By Eric Jinkwen ;-

Genesis 13:9 "Is not the whole land before you? Please separate from me. If you take the left, then I will go to the right; or, if you go to the right, then I will go to the left."

How come Abraham arrive at this point in life with Lot?
How can an uncle separated from his nephew?
The Bible reveals to us that God called Abraham to leave his country and his father’s house to a place God will show him.

There was no allusion to Lot or any other relative in that promise and in the plan of God for Abraham, but Lot also, who went with Abram, had flocks and herds and tents.
So, they came a time when their cohabitation could not work. The Bible says, Now the land was not able to support them, that they might dwell together, for their possessions were so great that they could not dwell together.

They could not lo get dwell together, no matter how they love themselves. Their proximity to each other became problematic to their growth and expansion. Their separation organizations have grown to the point that they could not exploits the same domain.

And there was strife between the herdsmen of Abram’s livestock and the herdsmen of Lot’s livestock…. So Abram said to Lot, “Please let there be no strife between you and me, and between my herdsmen and your herdsmen; for we are brethren.
(Genesis 13:5‭-‬8)

Beloved, there are some relationships that will only bring strives to you. You have done everything to make peace but things are not going because in the first place those people are not in the divine equation and plan of your life. As long as you keep proximity with such people, there will always be strives and quarrels.

Are they people in your life that when you meet them, there is always strives, quarrels and pains? Don’t claim to be too spiritual. You need to give distance.
Also, another category of people are toxic people. Don’t try to keep a relationship or proximity with a toxic person. You will always be hurt.

A toxic person is one who is always jealous of your exploits; One who always want to feed from your field; one who provokes strives; one who leads you to temptation and sins; one who does not promote your growth and expansion.

The Bible says of the devil, but they did not prevail, nor was a place found for them in heaven any longer
(Revelation 12:8). God could not allow Satan in His headquarter because of Satan’s evil agenda.
There are people who are destiny killers, enemies of progress. You must discern such and take a quick decision about them. Some are even nice people, but you don’t just flow with them.

Abraham said to Lot, … Please separate from me. If you take the left, then I will go to the right; or, if you go to the right, then I will go to the left.” Please separate from me!
Now, I am not talking about your spouse, because there is a covenant. You must work to make things work.

But there some you call friends, even some relatives that you must give distance if you are to fulfill your dreams. Not that you hate them, you just need some distancing for your mutual good and growth. Hallelujah!

Prayer: Father, I thank you for the gift of friends and relatives. Please help me to discern and separate from all poisonous and toxic relationships. Grant me the courage and grace to do so without regret in Jesus name, amen!
