The Blessings of Honour

The Blessings of Honour

Proverbs 3:10: “So your barns will be filled with plenty, And your vats will overflow with new wine.”

Honouring someone is an action of virtue and value. God demands and loves honour from all humans. We said yesterday that we can honour God with our possessions, the first fruits of all our increase and with our tithes. Our lives as a whole should be lived in honour and celebration of God’s goodness and mercy.
Now, what happens when we truly honour God with our possessions?

  1. He blesses our investments and savings. Our opening text says, “So your barns will be filled with plenty, And your vats will overflow with new wine.”
To those who honour God continually, there is always an overflow of harvest; this can be seen in their salaries, incomes from businesses and more.
  2. When we honour God, He ensures the protection of our investments and savings. In Malachi 3, God promised not only to open for you the windows of heaven; And pour out for you such blessing that there will not be room enough to receive it. More to that He says, “And I will rebuke the devourer for your sakes, So that he will not destroy the fruit of your ground, Nor shall the vine fail to bear fruit for you in the field.”
Many are so given to personal investments and they forget to honour God in return. Many times, the failing of those investments is explained by the lack of divine protection. The world is wicked, and full of evil. You need the hand of God in your businesses. Honouring Him is an invitation to secure your investments.
  3. When you honour God, He makes of you a delightful person.
Malachi 3: 12 says, “And all nations will call you blessed, For you will be a delightful land,” Says the Lord of hosts.
When you honour God, honour will come back to you because God keeps lighting you from one level to the other.
  4. Honoring God ensures your continual victory and salvation in all matters of live. Listen to Psalm 50: 14,15&23. “Let the giving of thanks be your sacrifice to God, and give the Almighty all that you promised. Call to me when trouble comes; I will save you, and you will praise me.” Giving thanks is the sacrifice that honors me, and I will surely save all who obey me.”
Have you wandered why some people are fought but are never defeated. They seem to be unbeatable. It is traceable to their commitment to honouring God. It is not a surprise that those who are closed to the president of Cameroon or to his wife and keep honouring them always have presidential favour and protection. You can understand what I am mean.
May you adopt honour as your lifestyle. Honour God and you will soon tell the testimonies. Hallelujah!!!
May God bless your week-end with peace and joy.
