The Blessings of Seeking God

2 Chronicles 14:7b the land is still ours, because we have sought the LORD our God. We have sought him, and he has given us peace on every side.” So, they built and prospered.

Seeking God is the primary duty of all men on earth. Out of God and His will, life is frustrating. And because the first man Adam disobeyed God, all other men except Jesus Christ have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God- separated from God. So, we are in a perpetual search of the missing glory we had in God. Even after conversion and reconciliation with God, we should keep seeking God because the more we know Him, the more we are transformed from glory to glory. 2 Corinthians 3:18 says, “And we all, with unveiled face, beholding the glory of the Lord, are being transformed into the same image from one degree of glory to another.”

What other benefits do we get from seeking God?

(1) Establishment into our inheritance.

King Asa said to the people of Judah, “Let us build these cities and surround them with walls and towers, gates and bars. The land is still ours, because we have sought the LORD our God. God had established them in their inheritance and therefore, they could rebuild it. May God establish you into your own inheritance. He has a purpose for your life that will only be fulfilled as you keep seeking Him. Another benefit of seeking God.

(2) He gives Peace and Rest.

King Asa continued and said, “We have sought him, and he has given us peace on every side.”
When you seek God with all your heart, He fights your battles and subdues your enemies. He gives you peace and rest. In Asa’s days the land had rest for ten years (verse1). May God fight for you and give you peace all about.

(3) God prospers us when we seek Him.

Verse 7 concludes, “So they built and prospered.”
God established them into their inheritance; God gave them peace and rest, so they could build and prosper. Keep seeking God. You need Him in every step of your life. If you have turned away from Him or His will, it is time to reconnect to Him. If you have been seeking Him and he seems far away or silent, don’t get discourage. He is working in you and around you. Be at peace.
