Three Major Sources of Problems in the World

By Jinkwen Eric

Genesis 3:9-10:
Then the Lord God called to Adam and said to him, “Where are you?” So he said, “I heard Your voice in the garden, and I was afraid because I was naked; and I hid myself.”

The passage above is the explanation of all chaos in the world today. Generally with the fall of man in the Garden of Eden, the world lost its original standard. Everything became corrupt and stripped of God’s intended purpose and plan.
Consequently, many things went wrong and will continue to go wrong till the second coming of Jesus Christ. Let us see some major sources of problems in the world.

Our own personal mistakes and limitations.

Adam and Eve took a wrong decision and it brought trouble to humanity. Men do not know it all in life. We can make mistakes. We can make wrong decisions and choices. That can lead to problems. Most of the time, humans are responsible for some of the problems they go through. God said, do not let the sun go down on your anger, forgive. But you say, “No! I will not forgive him/her. In fact, he/she will see me”.

Consequently, they become wise in their own eyes. That is why they face palpitation, heart attacks and so on. Again the Lord said, Isaiah 48:17-19 (NLT)
17 This is what the Lord says— your Redeemer…”I am the Lord your God, who teaches you what is good for you and leads you along the paths you should follow. 18 Oh, that you had listened to my commands!

Then you would have had peace flowing like a gentle river and righteousness rolling over you like waves in the sea. 19… There would have been no need for your destruction, or for cutting off your family name.” Let’s not immediately push the blame of our problems on others. First look within, accept responsibility and seek God for solutions.
The second source of problem can be,

The fallen and corrupt systems of this world.

We live in a fallen world with fallen humans and corrupt systems. So, as children of God, we can be persecuted, misunderstood and opposed in the expression of our faith. Hear what Jesus said to His disciples in John 15:18-19

15 “If the world hates you, you know that it hated Me before it hated you. 19 If you were of the world, the world would love its own. Yet because you are not of the world, but I chose you out of the world, therefore the world hates you. The world is not a friendly place. It is not a play ground. It is hostile to our faith. But we have overcome the world through Jesus Christ. The last source of problems in the world will be examined on tomorrow.

So, challenges are inevitable, but they can be overcome. They can be managed and most importantly we can grow in the midst of our life challenges. May God cause that challenge you are facing right now to work for your good. You will not sink under that trouble. May God bring you out in Jesus name.

Prayer: Father, I bless your name because you have overcome Satan and the world and You have given us the Holy Spirit to lead us into a victorious and triumphant life. I walk in victory every day in Jesus name, amen!

Understand the sources of problems in the world

1 Peter 5: 8
Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil walks about like a roaring lion, seeking whom he may devour.

How precious we are in God’s eyes and we praise God for His grace upon us.
We understood that problems began in the world with the disobedience of man to God’s instructions. And so, humans inherited a sinful and corrupt nature that sometimes leads men to decisions and choices contrary to God’s plan.

And those decisions can land us into problems. Imagine for example those who smoke and consume a lot of alcoholic drinks; is it that they do not know that these beverages and these actions are not good for their systems? Yes, they know it, but the desires and craving of the sinful nature are too strong for them to control them. But, by the grace of God manifested in Christ Jesus, and the help of the Holy Spirit, we can overcome that.

We also said, the world and systems of the world around us are unfriendly to believers. You can be a very discipline and good person, but you are still persecuted and fought. Be ready to face that reality. Lastly, another source of problem is:

The very organized kingdom of darkness headed by the devil.

In our text above,1 Peter 5: 8, we read this,
Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil walks about like a roaring lion, seeking whom he may devour. Remember that He was present in the Garden of Eden and deceived man to sin. He has experiences of more 6000 years.

So, we are living in a world that is under the constant assaults of the devil. We must be ready to fight. Hallelujah! Ephesians 6: 12 says,
For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this age, against spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places.

Did you see the organized structure of Satan in that verse? But we have victory over Satan and His cohorts by the blood of Jesus Christ and the word of our testimony in Christ. Maintain your testimony clean in Christ. Praise the Lord.

Prayer: Father, I thank you because I have overcome the devil and his army through the blood of the lamb and the word of my testimony. I believe Jesus Christ emptied the devil of all his powers and made public spectacle of him, triumphing over him by the cross. I am a Victor all the time in Jesus name, amen.

In God’s Perspective, every problem has an expiring date and a solution

Luke 1: 37
"For with God nothing will be impossible."

Truly nothing is impossible with God. And if you can believe Him, all things shall be possible for you. If a problem has a beginning date, it will surely also have an expiring date. Peter wrote in 1 Peter 5:10
“But may the God of all grace, who called us to His eternal glory by Christ Jesus, after you have suffered a while, perfect, establish, strengthen, and settle you.”

So, the suffering is just for a while. Your sickness is for a while. Your marital challenges are just for a while. Name it and I will tell you that it is just for a while. Even if the problems of the world persist for a longer time, they are just for a while compared to eternity with God without problems. There is coming a time that all problems on earth shall be solved. God will create a new heaven and a new earth and those who shall face no more problems.

Problems are seasonal. They are not forever. Life is made up of different seasons. Seasons come and go, but life continues. Bad seasons also come and pass away. So, don’t pass away with the bad seasons. Don’t become bitter in life because of a bitter season. The season of pain should not take away your joy and peace. Remain focus on God because no matter the problem, there is a way out with God. In the same way that God does not allow any temptation or trial to be beyond our strength, He does not either allow problems beyond our ability to come our way.

And the good news is that, He also provides a way out.
Every test that you have experienced so far is the kind that normally comes to people. But God keeps his promise, and he will not allow you to be tested beyond your power to remain firm; at the time you are put to the test, he will give you the strength to endure it, and so provide you with a way out (1 Cor 10:13).
There is no sickness that God cannot heal; there is no devil that the name of Jesus cannot cast out, there is no character that God cannot change. All we need is to believe Him in our situations. Jesus Christ said in Mark 9:23,
“If you can believe, all things are possible to him who believes.”

That was the case of Mary who faced a challenging situation of conceiving without ever knowing a man; And the angel answered and said to her, “The Holy Spirit will come upon you, and the power of the Highest will overshadow you; therefore, also, that Holy One who is to be born will be called the Son of God. For with God nothing will be impossible.”
Believe it brother. Stand firm and hold unto God’s word sister. And you shall see the miracle of God. Hallelujah!

Prayer: Heavenly Father, thank you because in every temptation and problems, you have made a way out. I believe this problem has an expiring date. Grant me the discernment and the grace to stay true to you as I look for the way out of this troubles, in Jesus name, amen!

The first weapon to overcome your problems, keep your joy

Philippians 4:4 Rejoice in the Lord always. Again I will say, rejoice!

When faced with a problem, it is usually very easy to lose your joy and peace. It is easy to pinick and be agitated. You don’t need to. Do not become bitter and do not worry when you face trials. We are commanded in Scriptures to always rejoice. It is not only a statement to satisfy the mind, but a weapon to overcome the devil’s scheme. One of the weapons of the enemy is fear.

But joy is a force for victory. Nobody can ever be a winner with God if that person loses his joy or peace. Harvest time is always accompanied with joy. Those who sow in tears will reap with songs of joy. He who goes out weeping, carrying seed to sow, will return with songs of joy, carrying sheaves with him. (Ps 126:5-6)

Joy and songs of joy announce harvest. If you wish to reach harvest, remain in joy. You must learn not to worry and not to transfer aggression.
Do not become bitter or do not worry. Worrying will not change anything. But remaining in joy will make all the difference. Listen to Paul in these verses, Phil 4:4, 6: Rejoice in the Lord always. Again I will say, rejoice! Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God.

Do not abhor any negative thoughts. A negative mentality will never produce a positive life. A bitter mentality will never produce a sweet life. A fearful and failure mentality will never produce a winning life. Learn to rejoice, to be positive and optimistic.

Amen! Your world will not crumble on you until you feel so. Have you ever heard these statements, “from bitter to sweet”? You can turn your bitterness to sweetness. You will win! You will overcome! Rejoice! This statement comes back often in the Bible. “Do not be afraid”. Many people commit a lot of mistakes because of fear and worries. Your fear can lead you to take wrong decisions, to give up, or make wrong choices.

Listen to God in Isaiah 43:1-2, But now, thus says the Lord, who created you, O Jacob, And He who formed you, O Israel: “Fear not, for I have redeemed you; I have called you by your name; You are Mine. When you pass through the waters, I will be with you; And through the rivers, they shall not overflow you. When you walk through the fire, you shall not be burned, Nor shall the flame scorch you.

God promised in that passage to be with us and that problems will not overcome us. Hallelujah!!!
If God is with you, be encouraged, the water shall not overflow you and the fire shall not scorch you. Praise the Lord!

Prayer: Father, I thank you because you have not abandoned me and you will not forsake me. I choose to rejoice in You because you will save me out of this problem. Please take over Lord, in Jesus name!
