YOU ARE TOO LOADED TO BE IDLE

1 Corinthians 12:11: “But one and the same Spirit works all these things, distributing to each one individually as He wills.”

In many churches today, only 10 to 20% of members actively serve and participate in the purposes of God in and through the church. The rest of 80 to 85% constitute the observatory commission of the church or the bench of spectators.

Many Christians’ spiritual life is summarized to coming to church on Sunday, singing and giving their offering. They make no effort to discover their giftedness and the potentials God has placed in them. They are contented with living an average life. It ought not to be so. We are too loaded to be that idle in the church.

We have a treasure (the Holy Spirit) in earthen vessel. Paul was talking about spiritual gifts when He said, “But one and the same Spirit works all these things, distributing (spiritual gifts) to each one individually as He wills.”

The Holy Spirit in all believers is the same Spirit who works through each of us for the advancement of God’s Kingdom. You are a contributor and an added value to the body of Christ. Paul already said in V7, “But the manifestation of the Spirit is given to each one for the profit of all:” Your membership in a church is for the profit of all.

You have received spiritual gifts that should keep you in active service in God’s kingdom. No one ought to be found idle in God’s kingdom.

After going through some fundamental teachings of the Christian life, we must begin to respond to God’s call to service in an area of the church life or the kingdom of God.
Have you identified your gift or gifts? Have you understood your calling and usefulness in God’s kingdom?

How do you know you gifts or area of service?

(1) You can go to God in prayer to reveal it to you.

(2) You can examine the passion or the burden in you.

What do you feel or sense led to do? Some people have a great passion to preach or teach, some to pray, some to give, others to evangelize and so on.

(3) You can do a spiritual gifts discovery.

There are booklets drafted to that effects.
Beloved you are too loaded to be idle. Let the Spirit of God use you.
